5.8 GHz Range vs. 900 MHz Range

Question:

Why doesn't this 5.8 Uniden phone have better range than my previous 900 MHz, does the 900 MHz have better range?

Answer:

The frequencies of a 5.8 phone are different from a 900 to allow for better voice clarity and reduced interference, our field tests have shown the 5.8 to have excellent range.

In our field tests at Uniden the 5.8MHz was demonstrated to have excellent range.  However, your environment affects range.  The effect is different to your 900MHz phone verses the 5.8GHz phones.

Environment includes:

Ø walls & wall material

Ø moisture

Ø atmosphere

Ø radio interference from other electrical devices

Ø neighbor’s electrical devices

Ø other radio interference

Also wireless routers and computer equiptment can decrease range and cause interference.

Also use web address provided to learn more about the differences between frequencies and digital and analog technology.
